FOURTEEN GOLF Immediate Release - 24 July, 2017
IRVINE, Calif. (July 24, 2017) – The players who finished solo runner up at the British Open and the Barbasol Championship both used Fourteen Golf products in the course of their outstanding performances.
The runner up at the Open used Fourteen Golf’s Type 7 Utility Iron to navigate the narrow, windswept fairways of Royal Birkdale, where he recorded rounds of 65-71-66-69—271 for a 9-under par final score.
The 39-year-old out of Georgia Tech also used the Type 7 Utility Iron when he finished fourth at The Masters earlier this year.
“Fourteen Golf is proud that such a highly-ranked Tour player trusts our company’s Type 7 utility iron in the highest level of competition in game,” said Masashi Kamoda, chief operating officer of Fourteen Golf. “Everyone at the company sends him our congratulations on such a tremendous performance.”
Meanwhile at the Barbasol Championship, Chad Collins used Fourteen Golf’s RM-22 Tour Raw wedges in lofts of 47, 52, 56 and 60 degrees enroute to his second-place finish – and his second top 10 of the year.
Collins, 38, shot 20-under par 264 with rounds of 67-60-69-68 at the Grand National’s Lake Course, a part of the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail, in Opelika, Alabama. Collins made four birdies in his final five holes.
“Fourteen Golf congratulates Chad Collins on his runner-up finish at the Barbasol Championship and we anticipate he will keep his good play going,” Kamoda said.
